At more than two hundred years old, Hotham Park Clock Tower in Bognor Regis needed refurbishment. Set within the largest park in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, the tower – a Grade II listed building - was built by Sir Richard Hotham who founded Bognor Regis and as such it has historical and local significance.
A conservation architect, Barry Stow, was brought in to work on the conservation and repair and as part of the project needed to specify vertical fixed ladders. He chose those from Ladderstore.com.

First and foremost, we're going to warn you that this video is not one for the faint hearted, it goes further than any advert we have ever seen in depicting a realistic workplace accident involving ladders.
It's from an ad campaign the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario ran at the end of last year. In the video a young, female shop worker falls off a ladder onto a glass display cabinet. |

At the risk of sounding unnecessarily alarming, we would not be taking our role as a conscientious access solutions provider seriously, if we did not bring to everyone’s notice important legislation as and when it came into being. So here goes - we start with a very important Act affecting all companies and organisations.
This April seems the introduction of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 and with it responsibilities that if flouted result in unlimited fines. |

At Ladder News we come across all manner of interesting tales, pictures and videos. Some of the pictures readers and colleagues have sent in from their travels beggar belief so we have set up a photo gallery for you to peruse.
We make no comment about the pictures. Some of the situations are plainly ludicrous, some are everyday product misuse and then there are the occasional gems are just, well, unfathomable.

It might seem obvious but there is a basic level of skill and knowledge that an HSE or Local Authority Inspector would expect people in your workplace to have if they used a ladder in their day to day work. Meet this level of training and not only can you rest assured that you have fulfilled your obligation to the welfare and safety of your staff, but in doing so you might even save a live – no mean achievement. |

We came across these home shopping channel 'bloopers' in which the unflappable salesman makes a hilarious hash of demonstrating the ladders he is trying to sell. Unmissable if you haven't seen them before...
